The mission of St. Timothy United Methodist Church is Connecting people with God's love.

This was the first Methodist congregation and one of the earliest churches in Transylvania County. Formed as Oak Grove Methodist Church in 1847, we moved to the current location in 1963 and became St. Timothy United Methodist Church. We have been worshiping, serving God and our community for over 160 years.

We are all on a journey, seeking a strong and loving relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and encouraging one another in living out Christ’s call to follow him as disciples. St. Timothy UMC provides many opportunities for personal spiritual growth, helping families grow stronger, and sharing the good news with all.

We are a welcoming congregation of all ages – from many places -- with varied viewpoints, backgrounds and talents. We are part of the larger United Methodist Church and uphold its motto, “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.” There is a place for you here.
